Toyohira Ward Misono Karate Club / Misono Branch

The current Misono Karate Club began activities in April 2009 as the Hiragishi Branch, using the Toyohira Ward Citizens' Center as its venue. It later operated as the Misono Branch at the Misono Children's Center, and in March 2021 the venue moved to the Circle Room on the 2nd floor of Co-op Sapporo Misono, at which point the name changed to the Misono Karate Club (Misono Branch). Since the venue is inside a Co-op store, members can conveniently run errands while practice is underway. Since its founding, the club has focused on junior karate, welcoming students from preschool age through junior high school. Because classes are held on Sundays, it's easy for parents and children to attend together, and senior participants are also very welcome. While many dojos feel like an extension of school sports clubs, we aim for a more relaxed, club-like atmosphere where students can enjoy learning karate for health and fitness.
